Day 01  Leave Los Angeles, and arrive at Lima
Meet upon arrival and transfer to your hotel in Lima, overnight at hotel

Day 02  Lima City tour
You will be picked up from your hotel at 9 AM. The city tour begins with the visit
to the Plaza the Armas, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO. Running along two sides are arcades with shops:  Portal de
Escribanos and Portal de Botoneros.  In the centre of the Plaza is a bronze
fountain dating from 1560. Located in the Plaza is the Cathedral, note the
splendidly carved stalls, the silver covered altars surrounded by fine woodwork,
mosaic covered walls bearing the coats of arms of Lima and Pizarro. Next to
the Cathedral is the Archbishop"s Palace. Then you"ll visit the Monastery of
San Francisco, this is famous for the Sivillian tilework and panelled ceiling in
the cloisters, the catacombs under the church and part of the monastery are
well worth seeing, You"ll visit the old colonial streets in the centre of the city,
and the modern Lima with the district of San Isidro and Miraflores. We will also
visit the Gold Museum this excellent collection includes pre-Columbian gold,
silver and bronze, ceramics, weavings, mummies, etc. Upstairs is a
remarkable arms collections with an impressive exhibition from Spanish
colonial times.  Finally, Transfer to the hotel and overnight. (B/L)

Day 03 Lima to Cusco
Transfer to the Lima airport for the flight to Cuzco (airfare included).
Upon arrival, you will be met and transfer to the hotel.  Afternoon, Cuzco city
tour. This tour includes the major sites of historical interest in Cuzco, such as
the famous Inca fort at Sacsahuaman, and Temple of the Sun.  A tourist card
will be provided to you for all sites access to Cuzco including outside of the city.
This tour finishes at 18:00, overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 04  Cusco / Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu (overnight)
(Note: This Tour is available just on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays)
Full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley. Visiting: the village of Pisac , a
picturesque town of creole and colonial aspect and its lndian market and
craftfair. Lunch provided. In the afternoon you'll visit to the fortress of
Ollantaytambo, an architectural site that in the days of the Tahuantinsuyo
empire was a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military
complex. Take a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, and stay overnight at
Santuario hotel there. (B,L)"

Day 05 MACHU PICCHU / Cusco
Take a bus (25 minutes) ride to Machu Picchu. Once there, you will be guided
by an English speaking professional guide.  Morning at leisure to explore the
area to watch the spectacular sun rise there. Hike on the historical Inca Trail,
and take scenic photos.  Lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge
(included).  In the afternoon you will take the train to Cuzco. Upon arrival in
Cuzco, transfer to hotel. (B, L)

Day 06 Cusco to Puno on the shore of Lake Titicaca
After breakfast, you will transfer to the train or bus station of Cuzco. Ten hour s
bus ride to Puno* , across the scenic high Andes landscapes of snow caped
mountains and grassland dotted by small villages and herds of the llamas and
vicuñas. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight. (B/L)

Day 07 UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS
Schedule pick-up time from the hotel at 6:40 a.m., after a 2 hour motorboat
ride, you will arrive at the Uros island in the Titikaka lake.  Fishermen and
hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Uros. The residents of the Uros use
the cattail, a type of rush, which grows in the lake, to create the conditions that
ensure the islands stay afloat. The dense roots that the plants develop support
the island. The roofs are waterproof and the houses are extremely humid
because of the surrounding water. At present, they speak Quechua and
Aymara languages. Then we will visit and having lunch at Taquile island. There
is also a cooperative shop on the plaza that sells exceptional wool products
which are of very fine quality and somewhat expensive.  Taquile Island is
famous for its craft production, particularly for its beautiful textiles. The island is
narrow at about 1 Km. wide and 6 to 7 Km. long. The visit could be exhausting
because of the 533 steps on the stone stairway to climb to get to the village
and because of the altitude (13,000 ft above sea level). On Taquile there are
numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins as well as Inca terracing.  We will return to
Puno in the afternoon. Overnight at Puno. (B/L)

Day 08/09 Puno to Lima, and Return to Los Angeles
Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima (airfare included) in order to
make your connection with your international flight to other cities or
back to your home. (B)
