Day 1   LA to Beijing
    Via: China Eastern Airlines, code: MU, non-stop transpacific flights
Day 2   Beijing    
    Arrive at Beijing, the Capital of China
    Hotel: Kingwing Hotel or similar (5 star)  
Day 3   Beijing/Urumqi   
    Fly westward to Urumqi, it is the farest city from the sea in the world!
    Step on the mystical Silk Road where Eastmeets west. Visit Xinjiang
    Museum.   Hotel: Haide Hotel or the same class one (4 star)  
Day 4  Urumuqi/Kashi   
    Take a view of the Tianshan Range and visit the Heavenly Lake. Fly to
    Kashi, a famous location for Britain and Russian intelligence
    gathering outposts in central Asia in late 19th century. Many of the
    consulate buildings remain till today.   
    Hotel: Haide Hotel or the same class one (4 star)  
Day 5  Kashi/Karakui/Kashi   
    Visit Lake Karakuri and Mt. Muztagata in the Pamir Range on the
    Karakorum Highway from Kashi (or Kashgar) to Kashmir
    Hotel: Haide Hotel or the same class one (4 star)  
Day 6   Kashi/Urumqi
    Visit Abakh Hoja Tombs, the Tomb of XiangFei is the most
    magnificant tomb in Kashi, filled with history and sybolism.
    Hotel: Haide Hotel or the same class one (4 star)  
Day 7   Urumqi/Turpan    
    Travel to Turpan, visit the Suliman's Minaret, Thousand-Buddha
    Gaves, Flaming Mountain, etc.
    Hotel: Silk Road Turpan Oasis Hotel or same one (4 star)  
Day 8   Turpan/Dunhuang
    Visit Gaochang Ruins, the Karez Well, the Grape Valley, then proceed
    to Dunhuang by train.   Hotel: On Train.
Day 9    Dunhuang
    Visit the Mogao Grottoes, which is the biggest in China and houses
    rich trove of stone carvings and mural paintings, Shazhou Old Town.
    Hotel: Dunhuang Hotel or same class one (4 star)
Day 10   Dunhuang/Lanzhou
    Visit the Rattling Sand Mount and the Crescent MoonSpring, then go
    to Lanzhou via the Gansu Corridor by night train.   Hotel: On Train.
Day 11    Lanzhou/Xia He
    Have a look at the Statue of the mother of the Yellow River, the Iron
    Bridge, the Special Waterwheel used in Lanzhou only and the
    Bingling Temple Caves.  Take a speed boat to visit the Liu Gorge
    reservoir and the cave arts along the cliffs enroute to Xia He city.
    Hotel: Feitian Hotel or similar (4 star)
    Day 12    Xiahe/Lanzhou
    City tour to Xiahe and the Labrang Temple, a major Tibetan
    Buddhism center outside of Lahza.  Hotel: Lanzhou Legend Hotel or
    similar (4 star)
Day 13    Lanzhou/Shanghai
    Fly to Shanghai and visit Nanjing Rd. Bund area. Xintiandi.
    Hotel: Shanghai Hotel or same class one (4 star)
Day 14    Shanghai/Los Angeles
    Free time to shop or see the city in the morning. We will bring you to
    airport in afternoon then fly back to Los Angeles.

Highlights:  
This tour will visit the most famous and scenic spots on Chinese part of the
International Silk Road.  The same route was traveled by the famous
explorers like Zhang Qian of Han, Xuan Zhang of Tang, Marco Polo of Yuan,
till recently, Sven Hadin, Sir Aurel Stein, etc., in the early 20th century.
